about

We are so lucky in this western world to be able to enjoy this season the way we do with gifts, alcohol, shelter and warmth, friends and food!

An extreme love for Christmas, passed on to me by my late mother, is the reason "A Very Ginger Christmas" came about. Encapsulating this magical (and equally tense) time of year in music has been something I have wanted to do for a long time.

Upon moving back to my family home in November 2016 after 5 years in London and a summer stint in Berlin, A Very Ginger Christmas is my homecoming sound track... and I am finally HOME.

It can also be a time of year full of love and real giving. Companies shoving all this consumerism in our face this season can be a real drag for those of us with humble means BUT it can also serve as a reminder that "stuff" is not important - you just need to change your mind's receiver to tune out of the shopping and 'want' frequencies and into the love and give ones.

I hope you enjoy these songs.

Track Name: Maybe Next Year
The years drag by
But I know it feels like only yesterday for you
Know I'm here
If ever you need someone else to talk to

And maybe next year you'll
Have a handle on it
It wont be this huge
Hurting heart that's got it
Maybe next year you'll
Have a better Christmas time

I wish I could say something
To take it all away but
We both know there's nothing
Holding back this wave
I hope next year
You have a better Christmas time

All along
You've shown everyone exactly
What you're made of
You are strong
Even when inside it hasn't felt that way for long

But maybe next year you'll
Have a handle on it
It wont be this huge
Hurting heart that's got it
Maybe next year you'll
Have a better Christmas time

I wish I could say something
To take it all away but
We both know there's nothing
Holding back this wave
I hope next year
You have a better Christmas time

Reach inside
Let go of pride
I'd do anything to give release to you
The pain will slow
Because you know
We are born alone and alone we must go
Keeping those we love around will show
That even if we fear it
We must be okay with being on our own

And maybe next year you'll
Have a handle on it
It wont be this huge
Hurting heart that's got it
Maybe next year you'll
Have a better Christmas time

I wish I could say something
To take it all away but
We both know there's nothing
Holding back this wave
I hope next year
You have a better Christmas time
Track Name: Humbug, Give Some Love
Humbug
Give some of your love
This Christmas time
You must stop
Caring all about those things that you've not got
And just give some love

Money doesn't grow on trees
Christmas or otherwise I've still gotta work for it
This day's got us all down on our knees
Why should I give just because the man said so

Humbug
Give some of your love
This Christmas time
You must stop
Caring all about those things that you've not got
And just give some love

It's a day when all the companies cash in
Christmas is business and it's always been that way
Look at them going crazy it's a sin
Just trying to buy things, they don't really need
Humbug with this holiday for me
If someone wants to visit then they know where I am
Let's be done with all these joyful pleasantries
We all really know people don't care, they don't give a damn!

Humbug
Give some love

Some people love to love
Some people love to hate
Christmas has become a consumer transaction, yeah
But for you it doesn't need to be that way

Look around at all your friends
Put a smile on your face
Cos even when Christmas ends
The love it looks after doesn't need to leave this place

Humbug
Give some of your love
This Christmas time
You must stop
Caring all about those things that you've not got
And just give some love
Track Name: Be Mine This Christmas
Just when I thought that it was over
You walked right in, through my door
They told me you had left
And after weeks of hating myself
For wishing I had said, what was in my head

Now you are here standing in front of me
I have a chance to make this right
Walking over to you, curious to see what you will do
Hoping this is right, asking you tonight

Will you be mine this Christmas?
Can we be more than friends?
If you say you do then I’d happily leave here with you
Spend each day together, until the end

It took me a few years to understand this
How things just seem so right when I ‘m with you
You’ve always got something to say
Making me feel so good, making me feel this way
So come on hold me tight, I’m asking you tonight

Will you be mine this Christmas?
Can we be more than friends?
If you say you do then I’d happily leave here with you
Spend each day together, until the end

You star in my daydreams
As funny as it seems
I’ve already lived all this with you
I know we all have doubts
But we will figure them out
Just say you want me like I want you
And let’s have a Christmas made for two

Will you be mine this Christmas?
Can we be more than friends?
If you say you do then I’d happily leave here with you
Spend each day together, until the end
